Welcome to ABC Radio Carib
My thanks for Major Riley - "You've Done" and Mo Silvaze "Jack Funk" for allowing us to play their EXCLUSIVES on our radio station. Mo is currently a dj on the radio station and I'm sure there are many more Exclusives on the way....

What is the Bossman Pandora's Selection? You need to listen on Sunday evening for my rare selection of music from the past. This is not your normal programme, but it goes to the root and philosophy of this radio station. I hope that you will enjoy and even share your views of this new programme.
Do you remember when?
-
On a Saturday night, your parents or older family members played their music during Starsky and Hutch, The Professionals, Tales of the Unexpected or frustratingly during Match of the Day.
-
While playing with your cousins (Test Match, Monopoly, Subbueto) your parents, uncles or aunties forced you to come downstairs to dance.
-
At weekends you listened to your favorite pirate radio stations.
-
Instead of using you pocket money for school lunch or traveling, you spent it on the latest American vinyl at £4.50p.
-
Worshipping or idolising your favorite DJs as they played tunes that you would die for.
If that is not you, then that's me !!!!
My name is Azam Ali (alias "The Bossman") Director of the internet radio station ABC Radio Carib. Located in South London, we are a new internet radio station catering for the Caribbean community. Do you notice the background of this website? Yes my parents are from Guyana, so this website blends the music from the Caribbean with the UK.
In the early eighties I was brought up on the prirate radio. I used to listen to Radio Luxemberg and the Friday night session. With a sense of nostalgia I remember the distortions (sound interference). I also loved the weekends - in particular Sunday afternoon where my brother and I will listen to either JFM or Radio Invicta. In fact, I prefered listening to JFM, and my brother Radio Invicta. Then before KISS went legal, we would listen to KISS FM.
To me we have "lost" the history of music. The popular radio stations play the same music time and time again. However a significant proportion remain underground and didn't quite make it to the mainstream arena. Some say that is a good thing - i.e keep it underground, but surely music is there to be shared and appreciated. Thus this radio station is a vechile to recognise not only the past but the present. With my unusual history and background we intend to blend the caribbean music with the music of the mid 70s to the present. Thus the Ray and Mo Mix sessions are a treat for you!!!
With the background information, our mission is to provide music which transcends international boundaries while at the same time maintaining the "unique feel" in terms of community awareness.
This station is for you. Enjoy it, and be prepared to get involved!!!!
Yours
Azam (The Bossman)
