News and Events When we started in 2006, we arrived with a bang! Five events in the first nine months. Recently we have played at events for "Young Minds" and other private functions. We then relocated and restructured the business. In saying that, we still did played out came off for a period at various functions. Some of these have been recorded for your listening pleasure. With permission we intend to post forthcoming events on our site and record these for future ABC Radio Carib shows. Some Events held by ABC Radio Carib so far... Sampled list of Events held by ABC Radio Carib 1st May 2009 - Jackdaw & Rook Special 26th September 2008 - Florence & Poppy's 21st Twin birthday party 31st May 2008 - Young Minds 23rd September 2006 - Wedding 17th June 2006 - ABC Revolution 3rd June 2006 - Bollywood Riddims 18th February 2006 - Valentine Affair 21st January 2006 - Original Sound Clash 1st May 2009 Jackdaw & Rook Special We arranged a non-advertised and promoted event at the Jackdaw and Rook. It was BRILLIANT!!! Special thanks to my brother Raymond, Ryan, Simon and Dezzy. Special mention to the main man at Jackdaw - Danny. Special thanks for those who supported us. Please click for photographs. We know that our type of music works, and if you want to hear what we played, check out this Friday's (8th May 2009) session between 10pm - 12pm. If you want to hear more of the same, don't forget that we would be playing at the Jackdaw on the 25th June 2009. Trust me if the 1st of May was kicking, then this event is not to be missed. This is especially true if you like the old classic house and boogie and revival. 26th September 2008 Florence & Poppy 21st Twin birthday party Here the Bossman with Da Genie and Wizard took the stage to the most "talked about" birthday party of the summer. A fantastic night with wonderful people with an untold mixture of music. 31st May 2008 Young Minds A packed packed event. We have never seen so much young people doing their very best to promote the anti knife and gun lobby. We didn't expect to see so much people - but we did. Hopefully we can do more work with Sharon and support the excellent work that her charitable organisation. Click here for flyer: Young Minds 23rd September 2006 Wedding All the DJs took part in the wedding of the summer. This time we even played Italian music as the Groom was Italian. Once again a brilliant night was had by all. 17th June 2006 ABC Revolution This is where the group split and “took on” each other. This was a fierce event, where the ABC DJs felt that the Kaietur Soundz “rigged” the sound system. There was no doubt to me anyway, that the ABC DJs were robbed. It was a close thing, but Kaeitur Soundz just held on to win yet again. Click here for flyer: abc revolution 3rd June 2006 Bollywood Riddims This was an interesting evening as it clashed with other events in South London that evening. This was the first time that the DJ’s played predominately Indian music. This was good night, but for me it demonstrated ABC Djs music versatility. Click here for flyer: Bollywood Riddims 18th February 2006 Valentine Affair Many would say, this was our best function, simply because we “treated our guests@ - especially our female patrons with dignity and respect. Each lady received a free rose, the décor was befitting the occasion and the raffle was warmly received. Oh yes, the music was spot on…. Click here for flyer: Valentine Affair 21st January 2006 Original Sound Clash To date our biggest sound clash event, was held at the Classic Club on the 21st January 2006 between Kaietur Soundz against TCB. This was for the First Heavy Weight DJ Championship Title Belt. The belt was as some would say “controversially” won by Kaietur Soundz. It was a brilliant night. More about the belt later on....... When we started in 2006, we arrived with a bang! Five events in the first nine months. Recently we have played at events for "Young Minds" and other private functions.
